Big Sustainability Questions: Part 1
Are you a business leader in New Zealand wondering where on earth you even start deciphering the challenge that climate change poses, let alone how to quantify the risk to your operations? Or are you a sustainability practitioner feeling overwhelmed with how to pull all the levers all at once, and needing to hear you’re not alone out there?
Our Principal Consultant, Gerri Ward, has been tackling some BIG QUESTIONS with some of New Zealand’s leading sustainability professionals. Questions such as why is it taking us so long to “get it” and move on decarbonisation; what climate risk reporting means to us in NZ; how our evolution into comprehensive risk reporting can translate into effective action; and how an integrated, holistic response to climate risks as well as biodiversity and nature risks could mean a win for all.
In the first of three interviews with sustainability thought leaders, she talks to Dawn Baggaley, Group Sustainability Manager at New Zealand Post. Dawn is well-known as a stalwart of corporate sustainability leadership in Aotearoa-New Zealand. She is a long-standing board member of the Sustainable Business Network, judge of the annual SBN sustainable business awards, and has a Masters of Science in Responsibility and Business Practice from Bath University, UK.
Special thanks to Rod Drury for making this awesome interview series possible and to Wrestler for the beautiful production.
